Allston’s fiery new rock outfit KILROY, are here to show you that they don’t mess around.  The power trio brings yesterday’s down and dirty riffs in combination with a mammoth rhythm section, to a generation of new rockers itching for the thrill of it all.  In 2017, these Berklee students brought a “cut loose” attitude to the usually formal feeling Berklee Performance Center, sending a clear message to a receptive audience that the spirit of rock ‘n’ roll is alive and well.  The band’s music and lyrics tell of common experiences and a perspective on society the way the drunkard at your local bar would; loud and no holds barred. 

 

KILROY’s debut EP entitled (XXX) is a quick and easy entry point into the band’s psyche.  (XXX) begins innocently enough with a familiar sounding Hendrix inspired head banger, “Sexual Sensualist.”  As you dive deeper into the track list, you find that the KILROY train doesn’t let up for a second, peaking at the EP’s mammoth self-titled track “XXX (Lose Yourself)”.  A slew of bombastic rhythms and furious guitar sounds come packaged with strong hooks and vocal harmonies as demonstrated in the final cut, “Believe Me”.

 

Live and on record, KILROY comes from a place of spontaneity that today’s generation of listeners miss out on as they are forced to digest overproduced content.   Life's hard, times are tough... KILROY is here to put you under for a moment. Their music invites the listener to spit in the face of their rain cloud and not let their troubles get in the way of a good time.
